Taylor Sheridan. Some love him, some not so much.

Regardless of your personal opinions of the guy, he is one hell of a story teller.

Isn’t that the goal for all of us as writers, especially fiction?

To expose a nerve, to incite some kind of visceral reaction?

Characters you love, characters you hate, characters that make you grit your teeth and want to throw something at the television set?

Scenes that make you want to weep, like you did the first time you watched Old Yeller.

As a kid I grew up on Zorro and James Bond movies. Thats what i wanted to be when I grew up. It’s a part of what made me join the military. My life has revolved around Military Operations, War Zone contracts, spending my time with Law Enforcement, etc… It’s the reason I write that genre.

Kudos to Sheridan for films like Sicario and his series Lioness. Engaging, thrilling, gets the blood pumping. Thats my goal to hit those marks as a writer.
